What a week!
We have been SO BUSY this week. We read a fabulous story called "Bear Shadow" by Frank Ashe. We finished our unit on counting to 10 with a day of M&M math! We took pictures of our shadows and then wrote a sentence about them. We read a Weekly Reader, many stories and watched some fun, educational songs on youtube.com. In art, the friends made some cute ladybug hats! Here are a few pictures:

We read "I Brought a Worm" in class this week. In the poem, the little girl brings a worm for show-and-tell. At the end of the poem, she eats her worm! She also reveals that it was a candy worm. Today, we also got to hold worms while we read the poem, then we got to eat it! Be sure to ask your child to tell all about the silly poem and their yummy worm!

The End
I cannot believe that we are at an end our time together. It seems like only yesterday I was updating my blog waiting to meet all of the new kiddos I would be teaching this year. And how much has happened? While a core group of kids have remained with me, so many have come and gone. We miss them. Oh boy! Have they learned a lot! We started the year learning letter names and now, well, now we are readers. That's my favorite part of kindergarten; seeing them learn. I am confidante that each and every student will go on to do great things. I am blessed to have been able to teach them and I will remember this year as one of the best in my career.
I want to say thank you to every parent for your involvement in your child's life and our school year. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you in the future.
