Out

I HATE being out of school. I try everything I can to come everyday. Lately, things have worked against me. I had minor surgery a week ago and I was out 3 days. This past Friday, my grandfather passed away. My family is from Tennessee and I had to make the journey to attend the funeral and be with my grandmother. In addition to these unexpected absences, I have been privileged to be on the Tech Team. I get to be trained on the latest technology to incorporate in the classroom. I will be out on the occasional morning for training. Please know that Taylors Creek has the best substitutes and I do everything in my power to make transitions easy on the students. When I am not at work, the day should go as planned and the students will have a full academic schedule.

I PROMISE to post videos and pictures soon!!!!

Hello and Goodbye

As often happens in elementary school, we have already had to say good-bye to 4 of our class friends. This is the part of teaching that I dislike the most! We really miss our 4 guys and wish them the best in their new schools.

The good side of teaching and being in kindergarten is meeting new friends! We have had the pleasure to add many new friends and hopefully will continue to do so. Our class cannot be smaller than 11 students and cannot be bigger than 16. I anticipate 2 new friends Monday morning!

Labor Day Holiday! and Mother Goose Cocoa Shop

What an exciting weekend we have coming up! We have off 4 days!! And...football starts!!!! It's my favorite time of year! Enjoy your weekend, rest and have fun!

Next Thursday and Friday we will have the Mother Goose Cocoa Shop in our room. Each child will have a chance to present a Nursery Rhyme to the class. How fun!! I will be looking for each child to say their name in a complete sentence (My name is...) and to introduce their Nursery Rhyme in a complete sentence (I will be reciting...). I will take videos of the children and post them here. Check back next week to see our performers.
